I never had the original one, but this tobacco is quite good in its own right. You know how things get distorted after so many years "ahh, those were the GOOD old days.". And sadly the latakia does not age gracefully, losing much of its potency after 40 years in the tin. but that makes sense considering this is considered the benchmark, therefore a lot of imitations have hit upon it, and some very well. To my knowledge, the only other ingredient, that which imparted some of the creaminess and the hint of vanilla, was deer tongue, the leaf of a weed(!) Simply amazing stuff, and I mourn that it's almost gone. The nicotine content is not heavy at all, but a solid medium. I dont know if this tobacco have the same strength, flavor and intensity that 70's or 80's sobranie, but anyway this sobranie is a spectacular tobacco with a Latakia very present from start to finish.
